If someone spells my name wrong, I am instantly annoyed. Especially when someone’s name is usually in their professional email. I don’t care if your sister spells her name “Kristen”… if you don’t spell mine “Kristin” than I am going to write you off as someone that doesn’t pay attention to details.
Countrygal@yahoo.com or email@example.com is not going to show that you are serious about anything. Get a gmail account like the rest of the world and keep it simple to your name. I’ve shook hands with someone that squeezed my hand so hard, I honestly couldn’t remember his name. He became the handbreaker guy… you don’t want to be the handbreaker guy. I’ve also shook hands with someone that had such a limp hand, I wondered if I went in as limp as her, we would have just been loosely rubbing our hands together. The thought of that kind of creeps me out just thinking of it. Find someone like your mother and ask her for advice.
